1. Overview
Python Quizy ("the app," "we," "our") is an offline-first quiz app that helps people practice Python programming concepts. This Privacy Policy describes what information the app handles and how, so you can use it with confidence.
Almost everything in the app works entirely on your device and never connects to a server we operate, so most of the categories that a typical privacy policy has to cover — account data, cookies, cross-app tracking, ad identifiers — simply don't apply here. The one exception is described in Section 3: the app can open this page over the internet when you choose to view it. The sections below spell out exactly what does and doesn't happen.
2. What the app stores
The app keeps a small local database file (pyquizy_progress.db) so your
progress is still there the next time you open the app. This database contains only
the following:
| Data | Purpose | Leaves your device? |
|---|---|---|
| Which quiz questions you've checked off as "done," by topic | Shows your progress bar and lets you pick up where you left off | ✕ No |
| A single flag noting whether you've seen the app's onboarding screens | Avoids showing the welcome screens more than once | ✕ No |
That's the complete list of data the app stores. The app does not ask for your name, email address, location, photos, contacts, or any other personal information, because it doesn't need any of that to work.
3. Internet access & what we don't do
Python Quizy declares the device's internet permission for one specific, limited purpose: when you tap the "Privacy Policy" link in the app's settings screen, the app opens this page in your browser or an in-app web view. That request only loads this static page — it does not send your quiz progress, device identifiers, or any other app data along with it. Outside of that one action, the app makes no network requests of its own.
No sign-up, no login, no user profiles. You can start quizzing immediately.
Quiz progress and app settings are never uploaded, synced, or sent to us or anyone else.
No analytics SDKs, crash reporters, or behavioral tracking are included in the app.
No ads, no ad networks, no advertising identifiers are collected or used.
Since nothing is collected, there is nothing to sell, share, or hand over to third parties.
Progress is not backed up to any cloud service by the app itself.
4. Where your data lives
All app data is stored in a private, sandboxed folder that the operating system allocates to Python Quizy on your device:
- Mobile (Android/iOS): the app's private, app-scoped storage area, which other apps cannot read.
- Desktop: a folder alongside the app on your computer.
This data never travels anywhere else — the app's internet permission (Section 3) is used only to open this Privacy Policy page, not to move your progress data off your device. We — the developer — cannot see your quiz data, because it's never transmitted to us. If you use your device's built-in backup feature (such as an OS-level phone backup), your progress database may be included in that backup the same way any other app's local files would be; that backup is controlled by your device's operating system and account settings, not by Python Quizy.
5. Device permissions
Python Quizy requests the device's internet permission solely so the in-app "Privacy Policy" link can open this page. It does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or any other sensitive device permission. The only storage it uses is its own private app folder, which is set up automatically by the operating system and requires no permission prompt.
6. Your choices & deleting your data
Because everything is stored locally, you're always in full control of it:
- Clear app data: use your device's Settings → Apps → Python Quizy → "Clear data" (or the equivalent on your platform) to erase all saved progress instantly.
- Uninstall the app: removing the app deletes its private storage folder, including the progress database, along with it.
- No deletion requests needed: since we never receive or hold a copy of your data, there's no "request my data be deleted" step to go through with us — clearing it on your device is the whole process.
7. Children's privacy
Python Quizy does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your region). Because the app has no accounts and no data collection, and its only network activity is loading this static Privacy Policy page on request, it does not knowingly collect or process personal information from children in a way that would require parental consent under laws such as COPPA.
8. Changes to this policy
If this Privacy Policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a feature that does handle data differently — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to check back occasionally if you'd like to stay informed.
